The Lost City of Machu Picchu

There is a place called Machu Picchu in Peru, South America. It's sometimes called the 'Lost City of the Incas,' and nearly 8,000 feet up in the Andes Mountains of Peru. Julio explains to tourists that Machu Picchu is known all over the world and it's one of the magnetic centers of the ancient world. He is a tour guide. Machu Picchu is more than 500 years old. Many visiters who are from all over the world come to there. They climb up the mountain in the sunshine or fog. When the Inca civilization ended, Machu Picchu was lost to the outside world for a long time. In 1911, an explorer found it again. His name is Hiram Bingham. Machu Picchu was forgotten by people but many people comes here every day. Machu Picchu became a very special place. Tourism is certainly changing the area.

Lesie talks about what she like to do when she has free time. Firstly, her hobby is going to the gym. Her favorite thing to do is auqa-aerobics. It's just like an aerobics but it's in a swimming pool. Secondly, her hobby is baking. She sometimes bake pumpkin pies or pecan pie. This year she is going to be baking traditional Christmas sugar cookie ,which is a big cookie in a kind of a Christmas shape. It's very yummy.

1203 Food for Independence
Daniel talks about the food and drink people consume on Independence Day in Chile. Chilean Independence Day is in September the eighteenth. They have parties for pretty much the whole week and they do some special. They can eat empanada. They always drink chicha. It's kind of wine. It's made out of grapes and apple. It's just juice.

I read two books. Firstly, I read 'Trouble at the Zoo'. Main characters are Mike, Jenny, Mr. Jenkins and kangaroo. Mr. Jenkins works at the zoo. Some students looked around the zoo. One of the students is Mike. He played a trick on animals. Jenny worried about him. Mr. Jenkins said ''Please don't go near animals. They are dangerous'' but Mike didn't listen to it. They went to the kangaroo area. Mike picked up the baby kangaroo. Jenny said ''Stop it!'' Then, the kangaroo's mother came to them. She was very angry. Mike run to the gate but Jenny staied there. She said ''Help me!'' Mr. Jenkins said ''Put the baby kangaroo down.'' Later she walked to the gate. Mike said ''I'm sorry, I'm really sorry.''

Secondly, I read 'Marcel and the White Star'. Main characters are Marcel, Miss Zaza Dupont and two men. Marcel is a French mouse. One day he heard two men's talk. They planed steal Zaza Dupont's diamond. Its name is White Star. Marcel chased them. Two men were laughing but Marcel wasn't laughing. They gave a woman a diamond. Then, Marcel took a diamond from woman. He returned it to Zaza. In the morning she found it on the table. She was very surprised. Next day this story is in all the newspapers.

13 Summer Vacation
Jeanna talks about her summer vacation and what she did. She went to five places. The best place is Las Vegas. It is most interesting because it was really busy and never rests. She went shopping a lot and visited the Hoover Dam. By plane from Oakland to Las Vegas. It took about an hour and forty-five minutes.

589 Italian Food
Marion talks about the wonderful food of Italy. Pasta and pizza are the most common foods in Italy. The ice cream is good beside the pasta and pizza. Fish stews is really good. Pesto is favorite tastes. She had it at least once a week. There are many dishes in Italy because there are many different regions. Each region has own special dishes.

English books 1

I read two books. Firstly, I read 'The Fifteenth Character'. Main characters are Sally Brown, Ken Parry, Zapp and Happy Hills the characters. Every day lots of different people come to Happy Hills. It is an amusement park. Sally works there in her holiday. Mr Parry is the manager. Zapp is a famous singer. One day he came to there to sing songs. He took a new CD. It is going to sung at his big concert next Saturday but it was steal by someone. He was very angry. The police looked everywhere for the CD. Then, Sally noticed that there are fourteen characters on list but there are fifteen in the room. A robber was Charlie Clown. She weared the costume. Sally went to Zapp's concert on Saturday night.

Secondly, I read 'Sara Says No!'. Main Characters are Mister Fruit and his daughter is Sara. They work at the market. She couldn't understand his way. She wanted to work at the market with her father because he cheated customers. Next day some customers came back. They were very angry because their fruit wasn't fresh. They said that want our money back but he didn't give them any money. Sara was very angry. She prayed help me. It is Wednesday morning. He touched an apple. The apple went bad. Everybody laughed. Instead of him she worked at the market. Next year, Mister Fruit was Miss Fruit and he cleaned the house.
